Players who cross the 130/50 threshold or who are promoted to the 40-man roster must be given a Rookie Contract. Upon promotion, the player will be given a rookie contract, where the first year's salary is $507,500. Upon promotion, the team will retain control of the player until he has reached a full 6 years of service time. Each year's contract amount and arbitration eligibility will be decided by the amount of service time after each completed season.
